So this is what I’m reading next. I always think it’s a good idea to reward myself with something I know will be fun after a read that has been more of a chore. I unlearned the art of ‘letting go’ a dry read and steeled myself in the last two years to plough through, no matter bad the book might be (yes, I’m talking about you, Henry James!). It helps for school, especially, but it really helps for getting through my ever-loving lists and goals.
Getting to the book: it is very good, as expected. I’m about halfway done. The first little bit I was put off because I didn’t really understand what was going on but when I think back to reading Slaughterhouse Five I think I felt about the same. Also, The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger. Starts off confusing, gets real good real fast.
A few questions raised by the book: If you know what happens in the future, how does that change the way you live today? How do you know that you are being told the truth – or is the truth you are being told given in or out of context? And, isn’t Malachi Constant the best name of a main character ever?
