Happy New Year…almost.

Now is the time that we tally up all of our great deeds we did in 2008 and then beat ourselves up about how much we weigh for 2009.

My tally:

  • I worked 4 different jobs this year.  Embarassing, yes, but I’m also very proud that I am ending the year with one I like very much.  I’m also proud that I transitioned 4 times without killing any family member during the process(es).
  • I went to New York, New York!  Saw Times Square, Broadway plays, the Empire State Building.  Travelled on my own with my daughter (another first) and didn’t get lost!  Even snagged two geochaches while we were there!
  • Was named as one of the top short story writers of 2007 for my teenie tiny piece of micro fiction.  There are some famous and talented people on the list as well which cost me a sleepness night but I’ve since managed to control myself.
  • I grouted tile for the first time.  I hated it.
  • I finished a course in American Literature and received a B+.
  • I read a lot of books (which will be listed in another post).  I liked a lot of them.
  • I saw some really good movies (Blindness) and some real duds (I’ve put them out of my mind).
  • I’ve rode the train nearly 5 days a week for a year straight.
  • I’ve only been ill twice.
  • I wrote a little…very little I see as I review my posts for Scrivner.
  • I’ve had lots of guests and I’ve been a guest a lot.
  • I’ve eaten out probably less than I ever have before in my life.  I stopped eating beef in August.  This has not affected anything as far as I can tell.
  • I rejoined my old gym at the old price.  The old ladies are still there.
  • I went to concerts and musicals via school events galore.
  • I did laundry.  Lots of it.
  • I got a new nephew by birth and a new niece by marriage.
  • I’ve been kind more than I’ve been cruel.

It’s been a good year.  Hope yours has as well.
